A pulsating top of the table clash saw honours even in a match of contrasting fortunes.
The Blues opened brightly with half chances falling to Sarah and Keeley but it became clear early on that Molesey would pose the biggest test to the Blues this season.
Molesey took the lead from the penalty spot and doubled the lead moments later with a thunderous free kick and at 0-2 down the Blues looked down and out.
However with the players that the Blues have they began to claw their way back into the game through some strong play.
A wonderful pass from Sarah released the ever dangerous Keeley on the right who managed to smash a shot past the impressive Molesey keeper to give the Blues a lifeline as the half time whistle blew.
H/T Blues 1 Molesey 2
The half time team talk consisted of the desire to score the next goal and the Blues took to the pitch with a new found positivity.
Despite being physically out matched by Molesey, the Blues began to create openings due to the sheer pace of Sarah, Keeley and Natalie who were being played balls to run onto by Ellie and Amy in midfield.
The equaliser came after a pinpoint corner from Ellie caused panic in the Molesey penalty area from which top scorer Sarah managed to prod the ball home from close range.
There was now only going to be one winner and the Blues piled forward in search of the winner. Martha was unlucky with a shot that flew straight at the keeper and Amy nearly deceived the keeper with a long range effort.
Molesey always looked dangerous on the break but Hera, Amani, Syd and Maisie defended superbly when danger arose.
With seconds remaining Sarah broke free of the resolute Molesey defence, unleashing a thunderbolt of a shot from the edge of the box which was headed for the top corner of the goal until a world class save from the Molesey keeper denied the Blues all three points.
After the game manager Joe Fazzino said "This was a game of contrasting emotions. After 20 minutes I thought we'd blown it but there is no other team in the league with our belief. I'm so proud of my team today and every girl today put in 100% effort which I can't fault. This result leaves us with our title aspirations in our own hands. We've got nine games left, nine cup finals if you like. I'm still confident that we will bring home the title this season as long as all the girls, parents and management team keep believing in each other".
Well done to the u12 blues for a great fighting performance at hillside yesterday.Deserved to win with a great 2nd half performance and but for a fantastic save from the Molesley keeper right at the end they would of nicked it.
Well done to Joe and the Girls.
