1 more point required to secure the League
The Blues secured a seventeenth league victory of the season with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over old adversaries Walton.
The Blues started brightly and almost took the lead when a shot from Sarah was blocked by the keeper and Sophie just couldn't convert the rebound. However it wasn't long before Sophie managed to get on the score sheet with a great finish from close range to give the Blues the advantage and was also their 100th league goal of the season.
Walton were a handful on the counter attack and almost equalised but an incredibly brave save from Maisie kept the scores as they were.
Sarah doubled the lead just before half time after a tremendous piece of skill from Martha and Ellie was unlucky not to add a third shortly after when her low free kick was cleared off the line.

The start of the second half was a scrappy affair with neither side taking control on a pitch that wasn't the best for free flowing football.
Martha went close after her shot smacked the bar and Caloe also nearly added to the score but her effort smashed the post and bounced clear.
The third goal for the Blues came from a wonderful finish from Keeley who registered her 50th career Blues goal with a sublime finish past the keeper.
The final goal came from Ellie who smashed a low shot into the net after good work from Emma and Sarah.
After the game manager Joe Fazzino said “This was as clinical a performance as I have seen all season. The whole squad played a part in this result. Natalie was outstanding at right back as were Sophie and Martha throughout the game but every player did their bit. Maisie in goal was incredible, Syd, Amani, Hera and Natalie defended superbly to get their clean sheet, Amy, Emma and Ellie bossed the midfield whilst Sophie, Sarah, Keeley and Caloe showed once again what a potent strike force they are. The girls now just need a point from their last two games to secure the title and I'm sure that this will be achieved".
Another great team performance from the team!! One point from their remaining two games will secure the Division One title which will be a fitting reward for such a talented bunch of girls!! I'm proud of each and every one of the players!!
