Crystal Palace 4 Wimbledon 0

This week saw Wimbledon as the visitors to the NSC for a 10.30 kick off.

Palace started the game very well and took control from the start, in particular, Tyra Wilson looked on fire right from the first whistle and she looked determined to end her baron spell in front of goal. It was Wilson who broke down the right in the 14th min with a strong run to the by-line, she cut the ball back superbly for Abi Deene who calmly stroked home for 1-0. Deene then dropped deep to collect a pass from Lexie Spokes, she held the ball up really well and played in Connie Lowman behind the defence. Lowman shot but the keeper saved well. In the 28th min Chloe Watson played a long ball into the box which Amy Gorman latched onto and fired in to leave the girls two up at the interval.

Palace continued to dominate in the second half with Ella Aylett and Spokes causing all sorts of problems down the right but it was a move down the left that set up the third goal of the afternoon when Megan Sharpe fed Alice Fuller who slotted the perfect pass to Gorman who’s shot was well saved but Wilson was on hand to hammer home the rebound for a well deserved goal as she finally ended her goal drought. Lucy Dolly finished the scoring in the 64th min with the goal of the game as she picked the ball up in midfield, surged forward majestically into the space and unleashed an unstoppable strike from 25 yards. Further chances fell to Erica Dos Santos and Deene but the game ended with a comfortable 4-0 win for our girls.

Player of the match this week, Tyra Wilson, she worked really hard today, scored one and created one to top an all round good display.
