C.Palace ladies U16s  6  South Park  0

Palace really turned on the style this afternoon and played their best football of the season so far, good preparation for a tough couple of weeks coming up.
We started in the best possible way with a goal after just 31 seconds, the fantastic Alice Fuller knocked a square ball out to Lexie Spokes who hit a cross that was helped on by Keely Nazareth for Tyra Wilson to score. Palace extended the lead in the 11th min when a great cross from Ella Aylett was converted by Wilson for her second of the game, the girls had worked out that they were getting joy on the wings and it was not long before the ball was played out there again, this time to Bekki Keyte who hit a dream of a cross that was met by a bullet header from Abi Deene for 3-0. A fantastic half of football from our girls, the passing and movement was excellent especially pleasing to see centre backs Lucy Baker and Anais Reynolds so comfortable on the ball.
The second half followed a similar pattern, the defence stayed strong against a determined South Park side and continued to play the ball out from the back to set up many passing movements. In the 54th min we saw how switching play can be a useful tactic, Sadiye Yilmaz received the ball from keeper Eleanor Mulligan, she advanced up the pitch and fed Fuller inside who let the ball do the work by letting it run across her body and hit a slide rule pass to Keyte in space who cut in and finished with aplomb, this demonstrates how a team can benefit from extra space when the ball is switched within a matter of seconds. Yilmaz was next to score when she took advantage of a mix up in the box to fire home following great work on the left from Amy Gorman and in the final minute Maddie North was bought down in the box and Spokes made no mistake from the spot to seal a 6-0 win.
Incredible performance today from a committed bunch of girls, none more so than, player of the match, Alice Fuller, almost every move went through her as she totally dominated the midfield area.
