CRYSTAL PALACE LADIES FC BLUES 0 v 2 MOLE VALLEY GIRLS FC

The Blues fell to defeat at the hands of a strong Mole Valley side. The early exchanges showed that there would be little between the two sides and that proved to be the case. Maisie was called into action when a long range Mole Valley shot was heading for the top corner of the net but she superbly tipped the ball over the bar for a corner. The Blues best chance in the first half came following good pressure by Keeley, which saw the Mole Valley defender hit her own post with a clearance but unfortunately the ball bounced behind for a corner. H/T Blues 0 Mole Valley 0 The second half followed much the same pattern as the first although Mole Valley were creating a few more chances. The breakthrough came after Mole Valley won a corner which the Blues failed to clear and the ball was fired in at the far post. The Blues battled hard but found chances hard to come by and conceded a second goal late on, when they got caught out trying to push forward for an equaliser. Special mentions for Keeley who worked so hard upfront closing down defenders and making it hard for them to play, and Amani who filled in at a number of different positions during the match but showed great determination wherever she was.
